Carolyn Engblom nee Swienton, 76. Lifelong resident of Chicago. Beloved wife of the late Glenn A. (1998), dear daughter of the late John and Helen, loving sister of JoAnn H. (late Richard) Childers, fond sister in law of Rev. James Bauman, cherished aunt of Christopher (Lisa), Kevan, Bridget Bauman and Elizabeth (Grayson) Bastin. She also leaves many good friends. Ret. 20 yr. employee of Rotary International of Evanston as Director of Human Resources. Visitation Thursday, January 9, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Heights Road, Elk Grove Village. Chapel prayers Friday, 9:30 a.m. followed by 11 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Thecla Church, 6725 W. Devon Avenue, Chicago. Interment at Maryhill Cemetery. Catherine Mitchell (nee Scopa), 97, resident of the Schaumburg and Elk Grove Village for 23 years, formally of Chicago, was born in Simbario Italy and died January 2, 2020 at Thompson Peak Hospital Scottsdale, AZ. Mrs. Mitchell was the epitome of Rosie the Riveter during World War II. She always worked hard and was a former employee of Ekco Products with more than 30 years of service. Catherine was the loving wife of the late Armaday Ralph (2002); loving mother of Marlene (Michael) Hionis-Kennedy, Karen (Michael) Mitchell-Kurak, adopted son Eder Marchesoni, dear sister of Vito (Marie), the late Sol (Kiki) and the late Frank (Terri) and leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be Friday, Jan 10 from 3 to 9 pm at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Heights Rd., Elk Grove Village. (Sandra), Julie M. (James) Erickson-Berganski and the late Daniel M. (2014); cherished grandmother of Nicole, Sarah, Christina and Alex. Annette McMahon Lopatka, 92, of Elk Grove Village, passed away January 1, 2020 at Alexian Brother’s Hospice Residence. She was the beloved wife of the late Horace E. McMahon (1960) and the late Art Lopatka (2007). She was a loving mother, stepmother, grandmother and great grandmother. Lying in state Friday, January 10, at Queen of the Rosary Church, 680 W. Elk Grove Blvd., Elk Grove Village from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Mass. Interment at All Saints Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (her son Tommy died at the age of 2 from leukemia) or the American Cancer Society will be appreciated

Diane R. Shrader, 79, of Elk Grove Village for 45 years passed away December 30 at Alexian Brother’s Medical Center. Diane was a loving homemaker and member of the Croatian Cultural Club of Joliet and the U.S.A. Polka Association. She was the beloved wife of Michael Shrader; loving mother of Kimberly M. (Christopher) Evans, Steven M. (Shawn) Shrader, Michael J. (Susan) Shrader, Scott M. Shrader and the late Gregory M. (Andrea) Shrader (2019). A visitation will be held Saturday, January 4, from 9 a.m. until closing prayers at 11:30 a.m. at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Heights Road, Elk Grove Village, proceeding to St. Julian Eymard Church, 601 Biesterfield Road, for a 12 p.m. Mass. Delores M. “Dee” Catania (nee Gillette), 76 of Elk Grove Village for over 50 years. Born in Chicago she passed away Dec. 26th at Alexian Brothers Hospice Residence. Dee was a loving homemaker who was very active in her community. She was the Park District Commissioner for 6 years from 1979-1985, a member of the Elk Grove Village Lioness Club for 6 years and attended Citizens Police Academy. With the Elk Grove Park District, Dee was instrumental in establishing the Fox Run Golf Links. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert T. (2008); loving mother of Nina M. (Mark Budach) Glynn, Lisa M. and Georgianna Catania; cherished grandmother of Chloe M. and Parker M. Glynn; dear sister of Helen (late Victor) Amidei, Walter G. and Richard Gillette, the late Frances (late Robert) Pagliai, the late Katherine (late John) Raimondi and the late James Gillette. She leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews and friends, especially Anna Marie Anselmo. Visitation Monday, Dec. 30 from 3-9pm at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Heights Rd. Carlotta C. "Tudi" Izral (nee Robel), 81, of Elk Grove Village for 24 years. Born in Chicago, Carlotta passed away peacefully at home on Dec. 23. She retired in 2003 as a scheduler for Oakton Community College and was an avid fan of the Cubs and Blackhawks. Carlotta was the beloved wife of the late Thomas (1996); loving mother of Laura M. and Michael J. (Jana) Izral; daughter of the late Edward and the late Helen Robel; dear sister of Mercedes “Merci” (late Russ) Mathews and the late Edward Robel; sister in law of James (Gloria) and the late Frank (Carol) Izral; loving aunt of Janet, the late Nancy, Jenell and Mark. Visitation, Sunday Dec. 29 from 3pm – 7pm at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Hts. Rd. Elk Grove Village. She was the loving wife of the late Ernest (1980); dear mother of Janet DeZwaan and Susan (Eugene) Wagner; cherished grandmother of Edward Wagner; dear twin sister to Margaret Fordham and she was preceded in death by 4 brothers and sisters. There will be a private interment held at Evergreen Cemetery in Evergreen Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Alice M. Kotowski (nee Bochnia), 86, a lifelong resident of Chicago passed away Dec. 24. She was a 25 year employee for Zenith Radio (Kostner) and a 13 year employee for Sargent-Welsh Scientific. Alice was the beloved wife of the late Richard S. (1981); loving mother of Greg R. (Cathy), James J. (Eileen), Renee S. Kuruc and the late Richard A.; cherished grandmother of Jeffrey (Jodi), Lauren, Samantha, Jonathan, Michelle, Jillian and Anthony; dear sister of Joan (Ken) Carpenter, Edmund Bochnia, the late Chester (late Wanda), the late Leo (late Jeanne), the late Raymond and the late Edwin Bochnia. Dennis Fogarty-Born November 14, 1948 and passed away November 25, 2019. Beloved son of the late William and Lillian Fogarty. Loving brother of Robert (the late Barbara) and Mark (Peg), Proud uncle of Patrick, Keith, Adam, Liam and Tara. Dennis worked for Avon Products in Morton Grove, IL. for 40 years and retired as Senior Facilities Manager. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing in Canada, playing softball and watching football and baseball. A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, December 28, 2019 from 12 noon until 5 PM at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Hts. Rd. Elk Grove Village, IL. Family and friends to speak at 5 PM.
