George Paul Jones

George Paul Jones died peacefully at St. Alexius Medical Center the 20th of March 2020 in Hoffman Estates, IL at the age of 82.
George is survived by his children, Mary Phyllis Balsitis and Peggy Gillespie. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Andrew Jones, Joseph Balsitis, James Deacon, Sean Balsitis, Steven Gillespie, Sarah Gillespie, Aiden Gillespie and Kellee Gillespie. He is preceded in death by his sisters, Margaret Hoste and Stella Leveque.
George was born on November 23,1937 in Sycamore, IL to Alvin Jones and Clara Daniels Jones. He graduated from Ramsey High School. He married Patricia Audrey Jones, his childhood sweetheart in 1958. After moving to Kenneyville, IL, George began working as an electrician for the railroad, he was a volunteer fireman for Keeneyville and a machinist for Spraying Systems. His children remember him as a loving, caring father who thought them to be generous and unconditional toward others.
George was drafted by the army in January of 1961 and he was officially enlisted on April 30, 1962. He was stationed in France as a railroad electrician and an ambulance driver.
He was a dedicated, charming and witty individual who loved animals and who was passionate about training horses. He was an active and dedicated member of St.Isidore Parish, as well as an active member of The Knights of Columbus.
A wake is scheduled for April 4, 2020 between 3 pm - 9 pm at Grove Memorial Chapel. All are welcome to pay their respects but due to the current health crisis, guests are asked not to remain in the building to allow other visitors to attend. A Chapel service with Military Honors will be held at 7 p.m. for immediate family. The family would like to thank Monica Tsiodras and Lisa Taggart for their dedicated support and love for George and Patricia, as well as everyone who shared their life experiences with them.

Joan Agnes O’Shea (Nee Sackley) passed away March 21, 2020. The loving wife of the late William J. (Bill) O’Shea for 39 years, she leaves behind her children, Kelly (Gary) Carney and Kevin (Lori Jensen) O’Shea, as well as her beloved grandchildren, Kevin (Carter), Mitchell and Molly Carney and Kyle and Kathleen O’Shea.
Preceded in death by her parents, Rigney and Alma (Nee Picard) Sackley, and her brothers and sisters, Rigney, Almarie (Mathews), Elizabeth (Lock) and William.
Fond Aunt to an array of nieces and nephews, she also leaves behind her very dear friend, Jim Mooney.
A woman of faith, she gave back to her community and the planet she so loved. She began recycling materials back in the 1960’s and made monthly trips to the newly formed recycling center. In her later years she would collect recyclables in the trunk of her car and bring them to be recycled because her retirement community did not have a program. She was a Girl Scout leader in Chicago for many years, driving back to the old neighborhood for meetings even after moving to the suburbs, and volunteered at the hospital re-sale shop to help provide for those in need.

Annmarie O'Kelly

Annmarie O’Kelly (nee Nootens), 68, passed away March 6, 2020 at Alexian Brother’s Hospice Residence. She was a 24 year resident of Hoffman Estates and a retired 25 year court clerk for Cook County Circuit Court at Rolling Meadows. Annmarie was the loving mother of Sean T. (Belinda), Mark T. (Rachel), and Brian K. (Mansi) O’Kelly, and the cherished grandma of Mark Jr., Heather, Rhiannon, Asha, and Arav. She was also the fond sister of Michael (Audrey), John (Mary), and Mark (Natalie) Nootens. She is preceded in death by her dear parents, George and Rose Nootens. Because of the current public health concerns and the CDC's recommendation to avoid public gatherings, Annmarie's visitation and service have been postponed to later date. Mary Jane Koska, 92, a 60 year resident of Elk Grove Village passed away March 9, 2020 at Alexian Brothers Hospice Residence. Mary Jane was the beloved wife of the late Leonard (2012); loving mother of Chris (Barbara) Koska, Mary Therese (Jim) Keane, Elizabeth (Rich) Boyer; dear grandmother of 6 and great grandmother of 2. She also leaves many loving cousins, friends, and caregivers. Visitation Saturday, March 14, from 9 a.m. until Mass time at 10 a.m. at Queen of the Rosary Church, 750 W. Elk Grove Blvd., Elk Grove Village. Interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

Robert D. Archer, 87, a 46 year resident of Elk Grove Village passed away on Friday, March 6, 2020 at Alexian Brother Hospice Residence. Robert was an Army veteran, member of Sheila Ray Adult Center, former employee of AGI Inc. of Melrose Park, and a graduate of IL. Benedictine University. He was the beloved husband of Mary (nee Mucia) for 61 years; loving father of Pamela J. (Jon) Wagener, and Christy L. (John) Lenhardt; dear brother of Rose Mooney, Mildred Quellette, and Helen Archer; cherished grandfather of Jamie (Jesse) Vader, Jodie, Jonna, Joseph, and Ryan; and great-grandfather of Jackson and Jerrica. A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 8, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Heights Road, Elk Grove Village with Chapel prayers on Monday, at 9:30 a.m. proceeding to Queen of the Rosary Church for 10 a.m. Mass.
